Well, you are talking about two California schools, which kind of cuts down on the audience, even if both teams are ranked.
In eastern Iowa, we can never get a Big 8/Big 12 game even if it involves Nebraska or Texas. All Big Ten, all the time. Another disastrous effect of the digital switchover is that the farm can’t get WOI reliably, which occasionally did get to show Big 12 games. (It’s also hard to get WHO, or KGAN, or KWWL…just about anything, pretty much.)
