RT @slmandel @schadjoe: As many Non-AQs (5) and Pac-10 teams (5) in BCS Top 25 as SEC and Big 12 combined (5) | Bwahahahaha. It’s a WAR!

When did they start using AQ? Seriously took me forever to figure out what it meant when I started seeing it this season…

I first saw it a few months ago. Not sure its origin, but I have deigned to use it (unlike some other “changes” like FBS/FCS) because I think it’s less confusing than talking about a “non-BCS” team making it into “the BCS,” which is just a really odd turn of phrase, when you think about it. Also, AQ is shorter than BCS, which is good in this Twitter age. 🙂

They should do like they used to with div 1, A and AA, but this time use dollar signs. The BCS conferences can be the $$$ conferences, and the non BCS can be the $ ones 🙂

My desired abbreviation is the BS system, but that would cause confusion, despite it’s accuracy.
