You are on a Mac, right? Just do alt-e and then hit e again. Alt + various characters does all sorts of accenting.

No, I’m on my work PC. This is why I haven’t used ALT+0233 in years: I was a PC guy in college, but bought my first Mac in December 2003, and thus haven’t had much occasion to use Windows shortcuts.
