Playing on the blue turf in Boise, that other Division I-A football team from the state of Idaho pulled out an epic win over Bowling Green in the Humanitarian Bowl tonight, giving up a late, heartbreaking touchdown, then rallying for a dramatic TD to pull within one, and eschewing the score-tying, game-extending P.A.T. in favor of the ultimate high-risk, high-reward gambit: a two-point conversation attempt with 4 seconds left to win the game. They made it, of course. Final score: 43-42 — just like another bowl game you may remember involving a team that plays its home games on that blue field.
Fate: it protects fools, little children, ships named Enterprise, and, apparently, college football teams from Idaho.
P.S. Oh yeah, and I finally got another bowl game right! 4-10, baby!
