Damn fine letter from a damn fine man. Way to go Conan for standing up to the NBC morons. He deserved one of two things, to either be given a chance to do the Tonight Show, or to be told he wasn’t going to be doign it. Instead he was given this half assed job by NBC, hamstrung by keeping Leno on during Primetime (fair to neither men in the end really). NBC pooched the screw on this one. It’s like Mike Garrett works there or something.

What are Conan’s options really? To quit? He can’t control what time the Tonite Show is aired. Does Fox really want Conan? Personally, I think Conan is the funniest of all the talk show hosts… BUT I don’t watch late night talkshows. Maybe I see 20 shows a year, and that’s usually by accident. Based on the ratings it seems that Conan is a disaster, why would Fox step up and pay him big bucks to host a new show over there. Plus they already have Wanda Sykes.
