Why are UCLA fans so excited that Chow is staying with the Bruins for one more season? He’s done nothing in Westwood going into his final season there. The Bruins had the worst offense in their school history during Norm’s first season when they went 4-8. This past season they started conference play 0-5 until they finally faced Washington St. The big accomplishment of the past 2 years was the coveted Eaglebank.com Bowl championship trophy which is made out of rotten pencil lead. As is customary with UCLA tradition they don’t want to achieve anything for themselves, their main football goal is to be a thorn in the side of the great program they have lived in the shadow of for nearly 100 years now.
In the last 2 games, Norm Chow’s brilliant offense put 14 points on the Trojan D in back-2-back 28-7 losses. Hopefully this act of defiance by Chow will motivate the Trojans to put the leather to those Bruins next season and bring the offensive genius to a place where talent can flourish instead of being extinguished.
