I won’t be tied for the lead for long. UTEP didn’t show up for the second half. The Miners are totally playing against their kenpom stats — their defensive efficiency is awful, and they’ve made a ton of dumb turnovers. I had this game as a toss-up and went with UTEP because of all the hype over Caracter, but their long-range game is abysmal and their offensive sets look disorganized — like they haven’t practiced in weeks.
Actually their defense has picked up since the Butler offense decided to throw up treys as their primary mode of attack, but by then the damage was done.
