In honor of the recent political chaos in Connecticut — land of Richard “Misplaced Words” Blumenthal and Susan “Active Practice (NOT!)” Bysiewicz — I have, as you can see, put up a new blog masthead, above, showing the beautiful view of the State Capitol from the ninth-floor room at the Holiday Inn Express where Becky, the girls and I stayed last week. It’s a panorama stitched together from a number of individual photos I took. I think the window curtains on either side create a nice “framing” effect.
I’ve also got this Fenway Park panorama, which I’ll use at some point. For more photos of our trip — not including shots of the kids, as per usual, with a few exceptions where you can’t really see their faces — click here.
The covered pedestrian bridge at Kent Falls State Park.
Becky and Loyette in silhouette on the bridge, waving at Daddy.
My Dad and a Guinness sign, in Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood.
Night falls over Long Island Sound.
Loyette’s seat belt on the airplane.
That last photo was taken at Loyette’s insistence — “Can I take a picture of my seat belt, Daddy?” — and was sort of a joint effort (her was on the shutter button, along with mine). I actually thought it turned out to be a pretty neat picture. 🙂
Oh, and since this blog is The Living Room Times — named after a Newington High School newspaper of yore — it seems appropriate to post a few pictures of NHS folks:
Tim Stevens and Jaimie (Kwassman) Burns at Newington Starbucks.
Carrie (Ripley) Taylor and me at Avon Starbucks.
Sean Vivier and me in the Holiday Inn Express lobby.
Good times!
