Good news bad news. The good news is that I think if Baylor is part of the deal..it won’t happen…of course that is the bad news too. I still think it will be difficult to get unanimous approval to add Texas Tech to the Pac-10 given its rather lackluster academic standing. But Baylor probably has even greater problems….given its religious connections….similar in many respects with BYU.
Well, that’s how Baylor got into the Big 12.
Colorado would have a decent fallback in the Mountain West* – although if Boise State’s going there, that would make 11. Then it’s the MWC searching for a No. 12 (UTEP?).
*Assuming the Mountain West can reach AQ status in the BCS. Or maybe even not assuming that.

Or Kansas?
Or drop Wyoming and CSU or New Mexico, and add Kansas, K-State and Iowa State?
It sounds like Kansas political officials (regents/legislature) would insist on Kansas and K-State being a package deal no matter where/what.
The obligatory and apropos movie quote: “This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we’ll be lucky to live through it.”
(Actually, I think it already is…)
@Kenneth, I think the Pac-10 would pull the trigger to get Texas and AM and both Oklahomas even if it meant taking Baylor and Texas Tech because of the revenue benefits.
