Sources who have “never been wrong”, are wrong eventually. Isn’t the season opener in Hawaii set for kickoff in 70 days? Isn’t Seantrel in training camp or summer practice or whatever it’s called? Here’s some legitimate news from a real source: The sanctions against USC are suspended for 1 year, so USC is going Bowling THIS SEASON if they qualify (however my Trojan-sense tells me if they’re going to the Emerald Bowl the school will impose the sanctions themselves at that point (I’m still looking for an Emerald Bowl Champions T-shirt)).

I thought I read somewhere that he did not show up for the “summer practice or whatever”…but I can’t seem to find that now.
I have heard that one of the options Henderson is considering is to enroll in Prep School for a year this fall. That would allow him to “improve” his grades and would also essentially allow him to completely reconsider where he wants to go to college the following year, By doing so he would not be taking a red-shirt year and could still do so at a later time. Thus at the end of next year he could choose where he wants to go (eg. USC, Ohio St., etc….assuming those schools still want him.) He would also then know the full sanctions USC is actually going to receive because the appeal would be decided by then.
If he decides not to not enroll at USC but still wants to go to a D-1 college this year, he would have to sit out a year before he would be eligible to play there.
And of course (assuming his grades are good enough) he could simply enroll at USC this fall.
I’m not an 18 year old kid anymore, and I know there must be wise professionals “helping” Seantrell along, so I’m sure he is smarter than he’s been made out right now. We all know he wants to play in the NFL. We all know MOST athletes want to play in the NFL ASAP and get paid. It wouldn’t make sense to sit out for a year at a prep school. It wouldn’t make sense to transfer and sit out a season somewhere else. This guy could red shirt at USC and miss out on One Bowl game (worst case scenario). That ain’t bad. The alternative, that he plays as a freshman, makes an impact on a massive national stage, and this season is going to be HUGE for USC. Imagine if USC is undefeated and ranked #1 in every poll Mid-November and the expectation is that they can’t play Alabama or Florida, but if not for the sanctions they would, for the BCS championship. The comparisons throughout the end of the season and through following seasons to whoever were to play in the BCS championship, IF NOT a #1 ranked USC, would be incredible press. People are still talking about Auburn in 2004 being left out.
It seems like a great place to play right now. Although he could transfer out to Florida St. or Miami and possibly hoist an EagleBank.Com bowl trophy. Heck, it’s a free trip to DC in late December, that’s better than… well no it’s not.
