We’ll be getting a full review right?
I don’t know about “full review,” but I will certainly post some fuller thoughts at some point when I have time.
Sneak preview: As this tweet implies, my thoughts thus far are almost uniformly positive.
So the line at the Bellevue Square Apple store was pretty long. When I got there an hour before opening it was well over 400 people long (turned out to be a 50/50 split of pre-orders and people hoping to get lucky) and it continued to grow as the day went on.
Clearly a lot of us were tired at being up so early (6 am and earlier, some people camped out). The Apple staff was friendly and helpful. They provided free coffee (and i don’t mean just drip coffee, they were handing out lattes, chai’s, mochas, etc. from starbucks) as well as fresh baked pastries for free.
However, what really amazes me, and I didn’t even take the time to recognize it at first, is how they treated people once we were in the store. Clearly they had a lot of people to get through, and they were actually going pretty quick, but at no point was I rushed in my purchase and pick up. The employee who assisted me was very friendly and we chatted as the whole thing went along, but at no point did I feel rushed or hurried. Now I totally would have understood if they did that, and wouldn’t have really minded, but they didn’t. Thats amazing customer service.
