Can anyone explain to me how letting same-sex couples marry in advance of a final SCOTUS ruling is to their benefit? If SCOTUS upholds Prop 8, I’d have to believe those same-sex couples who took advantage of today’s decision would potentially be more bitter about having their marriages annulled than simply enduring the status quo for a few more months.

Although I disagree with Prop 8, I do agree with Andrew that they should have waited until this was resolved before going ahead with any marriages as frustrating as that might be to these couples.
