I’ve read elsewhere that the WAC was allready eyeing some 1-AA schools as potential replacements to shore up its size.

As for Boise State going back to the WAC, I think the more likely scenario is the MW more agressively pursuing other schools. I don’t know if i’d count out Fresno State and Nevada just yet, the MW may be able to make some moves to get something like that done.

Take the current (future) Mountain West:

Boise State, Air Force, Colorado State, New Mexico, SDSU, TCU, UNLV, Wyoming

So thats eight. You could go to 12 by adding Fresno State, Nevada, Houston and UTEP. Or just ten by adding any 2 of those four.

If Conference USA loses Houston and/or UTEP they could look to poach Louisiana Tech from the WAC.

Incidentally if the WAC goes shoping in Div 1-AA, my money is on Portland State and/or Montana.

Speaking of conferences, trivia question for you all. Without looking it up, name the two schools who were once part of the Pacific Coast Conference (the Pac-10’s ancestor) but aren’t part of the current lineup.
