Read Matt Zemek’s analysis. This is a no-brainer for BYU. They may never quite be the “Notre Dame of the West”; there will always be scores more Catholics rooting for Notre Dame nationally than Mormons rooting for BYU nationally. But the trajectories count: As a sports and cultural institution, BYU is a rising star; ND is a fading meteorite.
