Bud Selig announced today that since the allegations of PED use go back to at least 1998, if Clemens is convicted the Yankees will have to vacate all games won by Clemens from 1999 to 2003 and in 2007 as well as their 1999 and 2000 World Series Championships. Clemens will also have to return the Cy Young awards he won in 1998 with the Blue Jays, in 2001 with the Yankees and in 2004 with the Astros. The Astros will also have to vacate those games won by Clemens in 2004-06 and the Blue Jays the games won in 1998. Selig also intends to determine if the Yankees and possibly the Astros and Blue Jays knew or should have known about Clemens’ use of PEDs and if so may issue additional sanctions…including a possble ban on post season games. 🙂
