Their self-interested and at times radical agendas, like Murdoch’s, go well beyond, and sometimes counter to, the interests of those who serve as spear carriers in the political pageants hawked on Fox News. The country will be in for quite a ride should these potentates gain power,

Where is all the angst about George Soros and all the other rich people funding all the leftwing groups like Move On etc that got Obama elected?

I’d say the angst has been pretty prominent on the Right. So if your charge is, “your side is being hypocritical/inconsistent,” I suppose I would reply, “Right back at ya.”

Here is the basic and apparently horrifying fact: There are millions of people, including me, including the Kochs, including people who have never heard of the Koch family, who feel some basic bedrock affinity for the notion that that government is best which governs least. There are a thousand disagreements about the details, but that American tradition is real, and sporadically potent. As it gathers strength in advance of November (and hopefully long beyond), it will be interesting–and so, so pleasurable–to watch people continue criticizing what they can’t understand.
