I do have to say something about the Koran stuff. To me this is a national day of rememberance. It’s utterly classless and irreverent for people to try to hijack today and turn it into “Burn a Koran day” or whatever.
3,000 people died, a-holes, including hundreds of firemen, policemen, and military. Respect that memory. Let today be about that and that alone. Have your stupid Nazi bookburnings to defend America some other day.
Oh, and Drudge has no shame.

So..on the anniversary of the day 11 men murdered thousands of Americans in the name of Islam, it is wrong to attack Islam, but it is OK to attack Americans and Drudge.

The comment @ Drudge is for putting the Quran burnings as his top story. The story today is the memory of 9-11. To make it about bookburning retards is shameful.
And yes, I think it is absolutely A-okay to criticize Americans who dishonor the memory of this day.
I have my own issues with Islam, and have criticism for it too. But we can talk about that tomorrow. Today is about our honored dead, period.

unless you want to attack Drudge or Americans you disagree with of course…….

I’d criticize anybody who did something hateful and stupid to dishonor the day. There’s no double standard or anything. If Nancy Pelosi or the Huffington Post did an equivalent offense to the day, I’d rip on them.
Gahrie, I do remember that your opinion (voiced here and elsewhere on the blog) is that the Islamic religion has some inherent responsibility for the violence it inspires. But even believing that, I’m sure you also have a problem with turning 9-11 into a “F**K the Muslims” day. That’s not what it should be about.
There’s plenty of other days to have such protests. The Koran-burners should try to pick one that doesn’t tarnish the memory of so many heroic first responders who charged to their deaths to save innocent people. Hell, just do it on 9/12 or something. But have some respect for the day.

Great pic in the banner today. One of your best.
