This weekend’s big news in the Loy household is that, for the first time since Robbie died a little over 2 years ago, we have a dog — another greyhound from the local rescue organization. Her name’s Elsa, and she’s a cutie:
We’re only fostering her, and unlike with Robbie (who was also originally a foster dog), we really do not intend to turn around and decide to keep her. This just isn’t the time in our lives for that. But she’s ours until the rescue finds her a good permanent home. And if all continues to go well, we will be able to certify that she’s good with little kids. So far, she does really well with them, and Loyette and Loyacita are both over the moon about her.
[The text after the picture didn’t post earlier, for some reason. It should’ve been there all along. The post is a lot less cryptic with it included, no? Heh. -ed.]
Grayhounds are great dogs. I know a family that adopted one. In fact, Elsa looks like EJ, except that EJ is a boy dog. EJ is a very friendly dog: loves everyone who shows up at the house.
Congrats! Robbie was great; I hope Elsa is too even if you can’t keep her for long.
