I live in Pennsylvania so I see those ads all the time. Brendan, if you haven’t seem them yet, you should. Not only does it end with a broken fortune cookie, but it also comes with a lovely fully screen backdrop of the Chicom’s flag. It also includes a gong sound effect and the voice over “Pat Toomey: Perhaps he should run for Senator…in CHINA!”. I would personally like to welcome the left and the Democrats in their renwed discovery of the virtues of red baiting.

Yikes. That’s awful. I really don’t understand it, though. Why does China-baiting cut against the GOP and in favor of the Dems??

Anybody who ever voted for anything that might be favorable to China (MFN status comes to mind) is vulnerable to China-bashing. If China keeps getting more powerful and unemployment doesn’t ebb, then in 2012 candidates will be attacked for ordering Chinese take out.
I might have been upset if Toomey was losing, but since he’s winning, I find the commercials funny. Plus I assume that this means that I am now allowed to red-bait again, which I’ve been hankerin’ to do. Bring on the Birchers!

Oh we’re meeting at the courthouse at eight o’clock tonight
You just come in the door and take the first turn to the right
Be careful when you get there, we’d hate to be bereft
But we’re taking down the names of everybody turning left
