To make geography look plausible, Pac-12 map shows Cal and Stanford being up near Chico, Utah just NE of Cedar City, and CU in Pueblo. LOL.

East and West would have been better. All but WSU is West of UCLA/USC. Would have made it simpler if/when we go to Pac-16 as you would have just moved USC/UCLA to the West.
USC and fUCLA in the East makes zero sense whatsoever.

As opposed to Cal/Stanford in the North and CO/Utah in the South? At least with the West/East you only have one overlapping school, and like I said, easier for future possible transitions.
Besides, the SEC is East/West and they get all the respect, the Big 12 was North/South and they fell apart. Coincidence? I think not!
