Which is why the entire system needs to be reformulated so that it’s sustainable and we’re not stuck in the paradigm of current workers supporting current retirees. We need to get to a paradigm of current workers supporting their own retirements.

For that matter, didn’t they just do that (raise the retirement age) in the mid 80s? It used to be 65, now it’s 67. Controversy and anger? Yes. Riots? No.
