This is a very incomplete article, since it fails to examine the boom in telescope-building in many other parts of the world. It’s tough to argue that “a golden age is ending” when there are plenty of other resources funded by other nations coming online. Why in the world should the advancement of astronomy be so utterly dependent on America and NASA budgets?
