The Bronco’s are getting a ton of help today in their quest for the BCS National Championship game. Iowa is up 30-0 over undefeated Michigan State at the half. Meanwhile Nebraska is doing its part, leading Missouri 24-7 in Lincoln. Despite trailing the Bronco’s in both the AP and BCS standings, the worry for Boise fans was that an undefeated Big-12 or Big Ten team would jump them as the season went on with strong conference wins, voter bias, and strength of schedule increases.
This is also good news for fellow non-BCS schools TCU and Utah who could fill the void if Boise drops one down the line. TCU and Utah meet next weekend in what would be a matchup of top 10 teams, possibly even Top 5 teams as the day goes on (assuming of course they both win today, something that may not be assured for Utah who faces a solid Air Force team this evening). Later tonight #3/#1 Auburn is at Mississippi and #1/#2 Oregon is at #24 USC. Boise is hoping its a double bad day for the Ducks, a loss against the Trojans for Brendan’s birthday (Happy Birthday!) and a win by former Duck Jeremiah Ma-stole-i and his team Ole Miss.
