Of all the tweaks made to the system, “Teams from the same conference may not play in the championship game” should have become one of them at one point, with a subsection of “If those two teams didn’t play each other in the regular season, that’s not our fault.”
I would say yes, too early. In fact, I’m not even going to go much beyond that because today turned the top 15 inside-out. I was going to say Oklahoma and Wisconsin are the best one-loss teams based on who they lost to, except we now have the Herky-beat-Sparty-beat-Bucky-beat-Herky-AND-Ohio-State clusterf**k I predicted last week and Nebraska-beat-Missouri-beat-Oklahoma which won’t have a chance to become circular unless Oklahoma runs the table.
The Big 12 being the Big 12 for one more year, Oklahoma has three good chances to fall flat(ter) on its face: Baylor(!!!), Okie State (Bedlam is going to be epic) and the title game (presumably vs. Nebraska and also epic).
