CU, fresh off 4th-quarter collapse at Kansas, led 34-7 but now it’s 34-14 and ISU has ball in great field position with 6:31 left. #PANIC?

Panic? *shakes head*
Brendan, 99 percent of the time, Iowa State does not come back at such times. While the 2007 game had a comeback from a 21-point deficit, that was at halftime and in Ames, and there wasn’t anything riding on the game. This time, it was for bowl eligibility; it was after an emotional loss that cost us the Big 12 North and eternal bragging rights against Nebraska; it was an a chance to send the Buffaloes limping westward with one final loss from ISU and 0-for-the-Big-12 in their last season.
Of course we rolled over and died. Of course our offensive line was offensive and our defensive secondary was second-rate. Of course our quarterback suffered a career-ending injury while their quarterback had a career day. It happened because we’re Iowa State. We can’t have nice things. Once in a while, the football gods throw us a bone, just to keep us interested, and then go back to whacking us with a rolled-up newspaper.
