The Mid-Majority has just published its first State of the Other 25 rankings for 2010, and Denver’s next opponent — St. Mary’s — is ranked #1. Here is TMM’s write-up:
1. Saint Mary’s (West Coast), 104.683, 6-2 (0-0 WCC)
Even though they took a Red Line loss to San Diego State over the weekend, the Gaels have the 24th strongest schedule in the nation and have two RLU’s over Saint John’s and Texas Tech. Randy Bennett’s team is shooting 50 percent and is getting 1.23 points per shot. It’s still all about the G.
The Pioneers will take on the Gaels at Moraga, at 8:00 PM MST tomorrow. Without question, this is the toughest game on their schedule.
Incidentally, the team Denver lost to on Wednesday, Utah State, is ranked #3. And the opponent they host on Saturday, Portland, is ranked #24.
P.S. Also: a housekeeping note, and an apology. It’s been three days, and I still haven’t posted a game write-up about Saturday’s win over Cal State Northridge yet. Sorry about that. I’ve been really busy. I hope to finally write it tonight. Ah, the wonders of not being a real journalist, and not being on deadline. 🙂
