As the Northeast continues to dig out from the Great East Coast #Snowpocalypse #Snowmageddon #SnOMG Blizzard of 2010 — or, as they call it in Buffalo, “December” — here’s an awesome time-lapse video from Belmar, NJ, which was right smack in the middle of the heaviest snow bands, and received a whopping 32 inches of the white stuff:

While we’re on the topic, more time-lapses of the blizzard after the jump.
Here’s one from Hoboken, NJ. Stick with it, and you’ll see cars getting completely buried in the snow:

Here’s one from Stratford, CT, where a bit less snow fell:

Finally, one more, I’m not sure from where:

The DC metro area had the strangest forecast for this storm. We were completely subject to the finickiness of when and where the massive low that caused the Boxing Day Blizzard formed out in the Atlantic. There was such a strong gradient from east to west, had the storm formed 100 miles or so west of where it did, we would’ve gotten walloped with 6-10″ like everyone else. As it were, we barely got a dusting. This image is worth a thousand words. As an example, here’s one of the last forecasts for our area that still had us expecting 1-3″. Notice how quickly it ramps up from trace amounts to mega-snow-dump.
By the way, I have to give major props to the Capital Weather Gang blog. I don’t think there’s another metro weather blog out there as good as this one.
