My mom sends along this photo of the view from my parents’ front door in Newington, Connecticut, after the latest #snowpocalypse to hit the Northeast:
Wow. That’s a lot of snow.
We don’t have nearly as much on the ground here in Denver, but it was still enough for Loyette and I to build her first-ever snowman:
He’s a wee beastie — “the world’s saddest little snowman,” I said to Becky at one point — of necessity, because the snow is very, very powdery. I had to sprinkle water on the snow with Becky’s watering can just to make it wet enough to have any hope! And even then, we couldn’t make large snowballs. But even so, Loyette thinks her snowman is awesome, which is what really matters. And yes, that’s a (far too big) USC cap he’s wearing.
Looks like the view from our front porch in Virginia — last winter. Thankfully, both major East Coast storms this year have largely “snow-holed” the DC metro area. OTOH, it’s kind of annoying to be consistently below freezing yet not get any significant snow accumulation. Either give us a warm winter, or dump a bunch of snow so we don’t have to go to work. 😉

It was a little chilly here today. But I did see some people in shorts, sandals and hoodies …..
