Don’t bother counting the stars and stripes. Just appreciate the artistry, not to mention endurance, of the 39 1/2-weeks pregnant lady who made that cake yesterday. 🙂
UPDATE: The cake was really, really good. Like, seriously delicious.

Hope Becky is feeling OK…does it get any easier the third time around?

This has actually been the toughest of the three pregnancies, not so much because of any physical differences but because Becky has been utterly exhausted at times due the combination of the pregnancy and the rigors of being a stay-at-home mom to two, rather than one or zero, pre-existing little goobers. 🙂 She’s better in that regard now that her parents are in town, since she has help around the house during the day. But she’s getting pretty uncomfortable, as always happens at the very end of the ninth month, and is ready for the baby to arrive already. She’s taken to encouraging Loyette to poke her belly and tell the baby to come out. 🙂

At first glance, I wondered why Brendan had set this as his iPhone’s ‘wallpaper’ … (grin)
Then I realised that the hand holding it shifted the perspective and size evaluation …
Could Becky’s additional tiredness be compounded by altitude ?
(bigger grin) For what it’s worth, with the experiences of my SWMBO (who is an Ob/Gyn), the baby will arrive when the baby is ready to arrive … it’s sorta like the cure for the cold – paraphrased – “Becky can do certain things and have the baby arrive in 7 days, or let Nature take Her course and the baby will arrive in a week !” … and, yes, a C-section *does* side-step that timing …
Since this is a family-friendly blog, i have to choose the next words more carefully than usual … ummmmm, OK … one technique which seems to work to speed up arrival (so to speak) is to do the thing which caused #3 in the first place … apparently that can cause/bring in hormonal shifts which can (but don’t necessarily) help to ripen the cervix … (grin) … sort of a lay solution (to coin a phrase) …
