I suppose it’s worth noting that, contra Jon Stewart and others, economists side with the Republicans on this issue. Not only do they want the Bush tax cuts extended for at least two more years, they want the federal government to stop trying to stimulate the economy. It’s as if they think that job creation comes form wealthy investors in the private sector and that public spending and growing the size of government are inefficient and counterproductive ways to provide stimulus to the economy. Whodathunkit.
