One of the more poignant epitaphs to the Weis era at ND has to be that Herbstreit and Musberger weren’t sure that the D had “allowed” Gerhart’s last TD until the slow motion instant replay.
In real time, it looked like a normal play from the Notre Dame defense, in spite of the defenders simply waving at Gerhart as he walked into the end zone…
