So, in honor of Butler’s Final Four appearance this weekend, and quest for a mid-major national championship, I want to temporarily change my blog masthead from the newly added Denver panorama to a photo from my visit to Hinkle Fieldhouse for the Bulldogs’ 2007 BracketBusters game against Southern Illinois. I’ve narrowed my options down to two contenders: (Full size) (Full… Read more »
Like the Gators would play a non-conference game outside the state of Florida? Against a legit team? A Division I-A team? A team that could actually beat them? Puh-leeze.
In search of the best tweeting and tweet-reading experience on my new iPod touch, I’ve downloaded a whole bunch of Twitter apps, some free, some merely cheap. Specifically, I’ve tried Twitterrific (free), Echofon (free), Twit Pro ($0.99), Tweetie ($2.99) and TweetDeck (free). Aside from Twit Pro, whose UI is just awful, the other four are all good apps, each with… Read more »
Dayton’s win over Ole Miss mathematically eliminated Joe Hiegel of Greenfield, Wisconsin from the 6th annual Living Room Times NIT Pool, and now it’s Steve Ivey vs. Rick Boeckler for the pool championship. If Rhode Island beats North Carolina in tonight’s second semifinal, Ivey, of Greensboro, NC, will win the pool. If the Tar Heels win, Boeckler, of Silver Spring,… Read more »

Taylor clinched the pool Monday night — on the first night of the Elite Eight, one of the earliest clinches in LRT history — when Stanford beat Xavier on a Tyus… Read more »
Baylor’s win over Duke has Lauren Taylor of Smyrna, GA on the verge of clinching the 13th annual Living Room Times women’s NCAA pool. Taylor will clinch tonight if Stanford beats Xavier. If the Cardinal lose, she will clinch when… er, if… UConn beats Florida State tomorrow.
With the Final Four set, the 15th annual Living Room Times men’s NCAA Pool is down to a two-person race: either Matt Wiser or Sharon Greggs will win the championship. As the what-if scenarios show, Greggs will prevail if West Virginia either wins the national title or loses to Butler in the title game. Wiser will prevail in all other… Read more »
With upsets decimating countless brackets and making it impossible for many contestants to gain additional points, the 15th annual Living Room Times men’s NCAA pool has just three contestants still mathematically alive to win: Sharon Greggs, Matt Wiser and Casey Zak. And in Casey’s case, the best he can do is tie Greggs, becoming co-champions of the pool. Here is… Read more »
Out of 182 contestants in the 15th annual Living Room Times NCAA men’s pool, only five picked Butler to reach the Final Four. One of those five, Casey Zak, now leads the pool thanks to the Bulldogs’ victory. The others are Ryan Dalidowitz (4th place), Jessica Cowans (5th), Monique Wiard (T-14th) and Bob Lutts (29th). But none of those contestants… Read more »
