Don’t do it, DU Bally! You have so much to live for! And the Sun Belt schedule will be much easier! #MoragaMassacre http://twitpic.com/3edl87 –me, on Twitter this morning What can one say, aside from stuffed-basketball gallows humor, about a 77-47 loss — tied for the second-worst of the Joe Scott era, and worst since 2007-08? Saint Mary’s (7-2) dominated Denver… Read more »
I just checked my Sportacular app, and it says Denver (2-6) is a 21-point underdog tonight at Saint Mary’s (6-2). This is the first time the Pioneers have been a double-digit ‘dog this season — Utah State was a 9.5-point favorite at Magness last week; DU beat the spread, losing by 8 — but I can’t say I’m surprised. Offensively, DU stayed in the game thanks in large part to 11-of-22 shooting from three-point land — and, in contrast to recent post-halftime struggles, a 16-3 second-half… Read more »
I’ll be live-tweeting tonight’s game from Magness Arena, and you can follow along here, thanks to Cover It Live. The game starts at 7:00 PM MST, but I’ll start tweeting a while before that. Tweets from Utah State fans @DesNewsKraig and @thrashsoundly will also appear here. You can listen on the radio here or here, or watch on FSN Rocky… Read more »
Over on The Mid-Majority today, Kyle Whelliston quoted Mark Macon, interim head coach of the Binghamton Bearcats — which Whelliston called “quite simply one of the worst and most inept Division I basketball teams I have ever seen” — as saying after a 55-45 loss to Canisius: “There’s victory in losing. It’s the opportunity to get better. That’s not a… Read more »
