I just submitted a picture, taken at 9:00 AM Mountain Time this morning, to the New York Times for its “Moment In Time” global photo mosaic (organized by its “The Lens” blog). One of the topics is “Family,” and this certainly falls into that category: The pictured scene came together on its own; Loyette spontaneously decided to start organizing her… Read more »
…Becky and I closed on our house. Five days later, we moved in: We love our house, and have every intention of staying in it for, well, pretty much forever, or at least until the girls are all grown up. We specifically decided to buy a place that wasn’t a “starter home,” but a house that we can see ourselves… Read more »
Okay, so admittedly, at 2 years and 2 1/2 months old, Loyette isn’t actually a “baby” anymore. But the piece of paper pictured below is her first NCAA bracket: We filled it out over the course of three days, each session starting with great enthusiasm (“Do a racket, Daddy!”), which gradually waned as her attention wandered. Such is the life of a parent of an almost-two-year-old. 🙂 As a result, I tend to get random… Read more »
It’s a Monday Night party! Loyette’s ready: I made that video a couple of weeks ago, in anticipation of the start of football season, after discovering some months earlier that Loyette could “sing along” with the Monday Night Football theme song (or at least mimic Becky’s and my singing of it). Naturally, because this was super cute, we practiced it… Read more »
For Labor Day, I went with Becky & the girls up into the Rocky Mountains. We stopped initially at Lair o’ the Bear Park, where Loyette had a grand old time running around, getting dirty in the mud, and getting soaked in the stream. Then we headed down Route 103 to Echo Lake (where we stopped for a picnic lunch)… Read more »
Once upon a time, say five years ago, my ritual on the night before any given Saturday of college football season (at least one with an ND home game) would have been something like this: Go out with friends to Corby’s, have a bunch of drinks, talk football and law nerdery and miscellaneous nonsense, then head to The Backer, have… Read more »
