I’ll be at a Super Bowl party this afternoon, and likely won’t be doing much live-tweeting (though any tweets I do post will, of course, appear at left), so I’m not going to set up an auto-importing live-blog thingy. But if anyone wants to comment on the game (or the commercials), here’s the place to do it. Go, uh, Packers!… Read more »
Well… that was one of the nuttiest things I’ve ever done. But so much fun. Totally worth it. My most memorable basketball experience since BracketBusters 2007. I hope to do a full write-up later. For now, here are two videos, neatly showing the beginning and the end. The first is of DU Bally in Laramie at 6:02 PM, watching the… Read more »
He was epic, as per usual, last night against #4 San Diego State: Yeah, I think I need to go this guy in person. Remember when Becky and I almost impulsively drove from South Bend to Spokane to see Adam Morrison and the Zags? Well, this is sort of like that, except this time, I only have to drive to… Read more »
And the Jets linebacker would like to tell you about it: Like MJD, “I just hope he doesn’t stay up tonight, calling Sal Palantonio’s home phone at all hours of the night, just screaming into the receiver about disrespect. It seems like he wants to.” P.S. The New York and Boston tabloids didn’t disappoint in their coverage of the game:… Read more »
It’s that time of year again: time for ridiculously early preseason college football rankings! SI’s Andy Staples, ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, and the Mercury News‘s Jon Wilner have all published their picks. Oklahoma is the consensus #1, with Oregon, LSU and Alabama ranked #2-3-4 in some order. After that, there’s really no consensus: the only other teams that appear in all… Read more »
I may have been rooting for Oregon, and I may mock the SEC and its insufferable fans mercilessly, and I may have been hoping for justice vis a vis Cam Newton, and I may have been slightly less than gracious in some of my tweets when it didn’t happen… but, in spite of all that, I’m genuinely happy for Auburn’s… Read more »
Randy Styles of South Bend, Indiana won the 6th annual Living Room Times Bowl Pick ’em Contest on Monday as Auburn beat Oregon for the BCS national championship. Styles, a.k.a. “wolfmanbc,” finishes with 45 out of a possible 60 points, and a 25-10 prediction record. Remarkably, when New Year’s Day dawned, Styles was just 12-10, but he was perfect in… Read more »
Since Brendan didn’t post anything, here’s a thread for commenting. You can watch on ESPN3.com if your internet provider supports it. I’m live-Tweeting over at LRT Live and my Twitter feed.
In case you missed it, the Seattle Seahawks improved to 8-9 (the first NFL team ever to even have that record) and advanced to the second round of the playoffs after upsetting the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints in Seattle on Saturday. The win was highlighted by an incredible 67 yard run by Seahawks Running back (and former… Read more »
LSU’s win over Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl eliminated David K. and left Jeff Freeze as the last Oregon-picking contestant standing, heading for a final faceoff with Auburn-picking Randy Styles in the 6th annual Living Room Times Bowl Pick ’em Contest.
