The craziest play of Saturday’s USC-ASU game. Hacky-sack in Tempe:

The announcers didn’t even notice, in the real time, the fumble at the end of the play (which ended up being the focal point of the review). Speaking of which, why did ASU’s #5, Terell Carr — the same guy who kicked the ball earlier — run it back the wrong way for 7 or 8 yards after recovering his teammate’s fumble?

It’s theoretically possible that 5 teams could finish tied for the Big 12 North title with 4-4 conference records. Ha! Scenario: Iowa State beats Colorado & Missouri; Kansas State loses to Missouri & Nebraska; Colorado beats Okie State & Nebraska; Kansas beats Nebraska, Texas & Missouri. http://bit.ly/qNSWQ

Pecking order for BCS #2 if Texas loses: 1) Cincy; 2) TCU; 3) GaTech; 4) FL-AL loser (rematch); 5) Texas; 6) Boise. That’s my tentative guess, if Longhorns lose Big 12 title game. If they lose BEFORE title game, then win conference at 12-1, move ’em from #5 to #3… maybe #2. Close call. But TCU is generally considered legit, I think. Boise not.

RT @InsideUSC “When USC went 0 for 10 on third-down conversions against Washington one argument given to me was that backup Aaron Corp played quarterback in that game. So what’s the excuse now that the Trojans went 2 for 13 against Arizona State?” Umm… the Pac-10 is a war? http://bit.ly/29M4fY
