We have 39 contestants in the 6th annual Living Room Times Bowl Pick ’em Contest. You can view everyone’s picks here. I think you have to be a logged-in pool contestant to view those links, but anyone can see the current standings here. Of course, everyone has 0 points for now — but not for long, with the New Mexico… Read more »
Big, big home win for the Pioneers tonight, who improved to 3-9 with their most complete performance of the season, beating a decent Northern Colorado team 71-68. I’ll have more to say about it tomorrow (hopefully).
It has been said that there are two kinds of people in this world: those that like Tron and those that love Tron. (Before you ask, no I will never tire of repeating that joke. EVER.) Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of its sequel, Tron: Legacy, released today, some 18 years after the first chapter. I took my seat… Read more »
I’m pretty cynical and jaded, but this is truly f***ing outrageous: This afternoon, as momentum began to build for repealing Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) threatened that if Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) brings up a vote to repeal the ban, Republicans would not support ratification of the New START treaty. … Other Republican Senators — including… Read more »
Geno Auriemma and the UConn Huskies women’s basketball team look to tie the 88-game NCAA winning streak record, set by the late, great John Wooden and the 1971-1974 UCLA Bruins men’s team, against #11 Ohio State at Madison Square Garden on Sunday at noon Mountain Time. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU and ESPN3. If the Huskies win, they’ll… Read more »

It’s easy if you try. At least, it’s easy here on The Living Room Times, ever since the Great Blog Outage of December 3 (about which your children will someday ask, “Where we you?”) forced me to temporarily shut down Twitter-to-blog imports, in order to get the site back up and running. I keep planning to re-enable them, any day… Read more »
Look: either the individual mandate is constitutional, or it’s not. And I, like many ObamaCare supporters, was admittedly too sanguine about this issue when it first came up. There are, I’ve come to realize, certainly some very legitimate arguments that it’s unconstitutional. (The Volokh Conspiracy is all over this.) It’s unknowable how the Supreme Court will eventually resolve the issue,… Read more »
So, I was thinking this morning about ringing in the New Year this December 31. Alas, the countdown to midnight promises, once again, to be a bit of an anticlimax, what with Loyette’s “Noon Year’s Eve” birthday party being the centerpiece of the day, and Becky most likely going to bed after the Times Square countdown at 10:00 PM Mountain… Read more »
